TRADE COMPLIANCE ANALYST

On beahlf of our Pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are recruiting for a Trade Compliance Analyst

The focus for this role will be operational oversight and execution of trade compliance processes to guarantee compliant and efficient customs clearance activities and adherence to the Global Trade Compliance Standards.
The role requires close collaboration and partnership with the different Segment Plan, Make, Deliver/QA/Regional D&T functions to strive for reliable day to day inbound operations in support of required service to the Customer.
In collaboration with Global Trade Compliance and Global 3PL Management Excellence Team, you will support development and deployment of the regional strategy for customs brokers, rationalize provider portfolio, assist in process harmonization, and performance management framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure smooth and compliant customs clearance operations of finished goods/API/packaging materials/miscellaneous and R&D products across Pharma companies across EMEA.
  • Act as the Pharma Trade Compliance DRI
  • Participate in crucial company's projects related to legislation changes, flows set up, operations movement between countries, FTA application, provide targeted support on trade compliance aspects of supply chain, logistics, or transport operations projects
  • Contribute to Global Trade Compliance Standards deployment in MAKE's/DELIVER/R&D import/export operations with constant maintenance further.
  • To interact at the appropriate level with Government authorities and represent J&J (SME for customs authorities and other participant government agencies)
  • To connect and collaborate with other Global Trade compliance teams to complete and implement Global Trade Compliance Standards, processes, and tools.
  • To support relationships management with Customs Clearing Agents via metrics and by providing them directions and mentorship, as well as supporting continuous improvements.
  • To deliver on CIP targets through operational improvements whiles ensuring service, quality, reliability and compliance.
  • To assist maintaining AEO certification in accordance with customs legislation.
  • To secure timely reporting to customs authorities.
  • To ensure compliant preferential origin/non preferential and commodity code set up.
  • To assist smooth internal and external trade compliance audits, conducted by Customs Authorities and CIA.
  • To proactively surfaces and resolves key issues
  • To drive a culture of Safety & Compliance.
  • To support post entry reviews internally and externally.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Business / Law / Finance or equivalent by experience in an international supply chain environment
  • Minimum 3 years of confirmed experience in Trade Compliance area
  • Experience with international trade flows and import/export documentation
  • Experience in customs brokerage activities, 3PL management
  • Experience and/or training in one or more of the following areas of competence: Union Customs Code (UCC), World Customs Organization, HTS code determination, Customs valuation principles, rules of origin, free trade agreements, INCOTERMS.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different organizations
  • Innovative approach with capability for problem solving, compliance orientation/GDP knowledge/quality mentality, business case development and trade-off alignment
  • Customer oriented and a pro-active attitude.
