Python and PySpark Developer (Big Data Analytics)

On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Python Developer to work in a Data Science & Analytics team.

Overview of the project:

  • The work of our client provides decision-makers across the globe with useful metrics, insights, predictions and analytic tools, enabling a data- and technology-driven compliance function. Partnering closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders, they use machine learning techniques to work on solutions for transaction monitoring, client intelligence, employee surveillance and automated reporting.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions by following the design thinking approach
  • Using state of the art data science infrastructure & technologies
  • Do end-to-end development including front-ends
  • Data processing, data management, implementing testing, aggregating data, calculating risk measures, creating data ontology
  • Interact directly with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create the solutions
  • Work in an agile environment (scrum team size: 7)
  • Based on the seniority contractor will either co-work with an experienced data scientist on the tasks or be a fully self-reliant squad member

Skills:

  • Very strong Python and PySpark Development skills
  • Proven experience of working with data platforms
  • Experienced in analytics with focus on distributed computing
  • High integrity, responsibility and confidentiality is a must for dealing with sensitive data
  • Proven experience as a strong, self-starting team player and independent thinker, willing to cooperate in a highly collaborative environment and contribute to the team's success
  • Active member of the agile and design thinking approach
  • Business fluency in English

Highly beneficial:

  • Studies in Quantitative Subjects
  • Knowledge of analysing big data
  • PhD holder
