Business/ Data Analyst (Credit Risk - IFRS9 - US GAAP)

On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a IT Business Analyst with proven Credit Risk experience ideally working on Impairment programs.

Overview of the project:

  • The candidate would be working on an international and strategic top initiative program and more specifically in the IT team responsible to deliver impairment calculations.

Main responsibilities:

  • The role sits in the Calculations stream of the Impairment Regulatory Program (IFRS9 and US GAAP already delivered and with CH GAAP expected to go live by end of 2020)
  • The Requirements Engineer is expected to have a working knowledge of the AGILE project methodology and hence to work alongside the other team members to support monthly release cycles, to provide updates at the daily stand up meetings, to actively update the online tool (JIRA)
  • In close relationship with the Business Representatives, the other Requirement Engineers in charge of the calculation engines and the test team working on the project, the Requirements Engineer is expected to understand the business requirements, analyse and challenge them in a proactive way, create/maintain the relevant documents in the online tool (JIRA) and have it validated by all relevant stakeholders.
  • In close relationship with the project teams (both technical and functional), the other Requirement Engineers in charge of the calculation engines and the test team working on the project, the Requirements Engineer is expected to contribute to create test cases, test data, perform testing and support the user acceptance testing phases
  • The Requirements Engineer will also support developers and testers by resolving data issues that come up during the technical implementation, testing phase and warranty period after a release in the Production system and will provide support regarding data used and produced by the calculation engines to other work streams within the Program

Skills:

  • 5 + years of experience within Requirements Engineering/ IT Business Analysis in application development projects
  • 2 or more years of experience working on AGILE projects
  • Advanced knowledge of requirements engineering techniques and tools (UML, data modeling, process modeling, Odyssey, JIRA, Confluence, MS Office products, HP ALM, SQL, etc.).
  • Experience in banking or finance industry - preferably Credit Risk PB area.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Soft skills to handle stakeholders with different background (business project managers, user representatives / subject matter experts, developers, offshore resources, testers etc.) and in general good communication skills
  • Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.

Beneficial skills:

  • Know-how in Impairment principles / modelling
  • Experience in international projects
  • Business engineering education and/or certificate
  • Beneficial with experience in mathematical, business related requirements and problem statements
