Application Reliability Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

• Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, deployments, monitoring, emergency response, lifecycle, and capacity planning of software services
• Study, analyze, improve, and reverse engineer business applications
• Define measurements for applications, recognize patterns with statistical methods and suggest improvements
• Define availability targets, service level objectives, error budgets and how to spend it in order to optimize
• End to end accountability for the full technology stack of applications in their respective application portfolio
• Net promotion score and lower total cost of ownership for a business service
• Being the technical single point of contact to both IT vendors and business users, define and implement defense in depth and graceful degradation principles for mission critical services

Your profile:

• 5+ years of work experience in software engineering or system administration
• Strong reverse engineering skills across different systems on diverse technology stacks
• Experience with web technologies, Linux and containerization
• Technical improvisational skills in case when operating procedures do not work anymore
• Ability to think statistically (uncloak hidden anomalies and suggest long-term solutions)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); German would be a plus

Location: Zurich, hybrid
