Our client, a global leader in sensor, software, and autonomous solutions, is seeking a talented and dedicated DevOps Engineer Embedded/Robotics to join their team in Zürich. If you are driven by precision and passionate about creating digital reality solutions that empower a sustainable future, this opportunity is for you.

This role involves ensuring the continuous deployment and testing of robotics software on real hardware. As a DevOps Engineer Embedded/Robotics, you will have the opportunity to design and develop hardware/software test harnesses to run software on an embedded Linux computer, seamlessly interfacing with sensors and motors. By joining our client's newly established team within their Innovation Hub, you will have the chance to turn your visions into reality.

Here's why this role will appeal to you:

  • Take ownership of the embedded hardware in the loop continuous integration (CI) infrastructure, which guarantees the core functionality of our client's robot for each software build. Your work will directly contribute to the project's success and the team's development speed.
  • Design and set up the hardware test rack and the accompanying software used by developers for deploying tests.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify the needs for the hardware testing infrastructure and address questions at the intersection of DevOps and product development, particularly related to deployment.
  • Contribute to pure software DevOps efforts, including cloud-based CI systems.
  • Utilize your coding skills in Python, shell/bash script, C++, and work within Docker. You will commit your code to git.
  • Thrive in an agile environment where fast iteration and continuous learning are key. You will be part of an R&D team with a startup spirit within our client's globally active company.

Here's what we're looking for in you:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with software on small/embedded devices (Linux) and familiarity with hardware and related interfaces, such as sensor interfaces or communication interfaces.
  • A strong interest in growing your skills in areas such as CI/CD, GitLab, Docker, and related best practices (multiple years of professional experience preferred).
  • Fluency in Python, Shell/Bash, and C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with simple system/hardware designs, such as wire harness setup and component selection.
  • The ability to work independently and hands-on with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proficiency in English, with German being an advantage (the official working language is English).
