Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Banking Operations Analyst to support the day to day settlement and front-to-back reconciliations and controls of a variance of products in a 50% contract that will run for 8 months.
Main responsibilities
- Performing the daily trade validation, control and position keeping tasks in an efficient, customer, risk and cost-oriented way
- Book transactions - enter trades into Operations systems (manual importing the data from front systems to operation system, understanding the downstream impact in regards to financial accounting)
- Reconcile transactions (FOBO) - compare trade booking in front office and back office systems
- Investigate and resolve breaks (data attribute discrepancy between two systems) - based on email queries or FOBO (front office back office) reconciliation
- Improving processes around generating booking vouchers which are balance sheet relevant
- Using Excel (Excel macros) to improve existing recon tasks
- Work in close collaboration and communication with our trading desks, internal support areas and bank counterparties around the globe.
Your skills:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with data analysis
- 2 -3 years of Banking Operations experience would be a very big plus
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel is essential and VBA skills a big plus
- Accounting overview/understanding
- Fluency in English and ideally German
- Good communication skills
- Sense of responsibility, ability to get things done within end-month deadline
