Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a company focused on renewable energy and water resource management in Zürich, we are looking for an Embedded C++ Software Engineer.

Location: Zürich

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Permanent

Main responsibilities

• Programming in C++ for measurement devices developed by our client (embedded systems), based on modern Linux operating systems.
• Actively contribute to the ongoing development of a variety of high-precision measurement products, particularly focusing on device functions, signal evaluation, analysis, real-time processing, and computation of various characteristic measurement values.
• Collaborate with various (network) communication mechanisms and protocols, including web frontends and TCP/IP communication for external devices and control systems.
• Provide support for diagnosis and issue resolution in engineering or on our systems related to our measurement products (third-level support).
• Assist in maintaining test environments, including continuous build/nightly build, automated testing platforms, and long-term testing systems.
• Due to the high reliability requirements of our applications (some of which are critical infrastructure), precise and accurate implementation is essential.
• Work within a flexible team, occasionally collaborating with external entities and development service providers. This collaborative approach allows for detailed product influence and direct experience with eventual applications.

Your skills:

• Strong proficiency in C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with modern Linux operating systems.
• Experience in high-precision measurement technology is advantageous.
• Knowledge of signal processing, real-time computation, and communication protocols.
• Ability to provide third-level support and diagnose issues effectively.
• Experience with test environments and automated testing platforms.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accurate and reliable implementation.
• Collaborative and flexible mindset for effective teamwork and external collaborations.
• Excellent communication skills in both German & English.
