Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a large bank in Switzerland, we are looking for a Data scientist.

Location: Zürich

Start date: 02.12.2024

End date: 02.12.2025 - with possibility of extension

Main responsibilities

• Develop Machine Learning and Financial models for Market Making, Order Execution, and Sales.
• Create software applications, user interfaces, APIs, dashboards, and automated reports for business users.
• Ensure data quality, including mining, cleansing, and analyzing large datasets for use-case development.
• Write well-documented production code and algorithms, mainly in Python and Scala.
• Co-build data infrastructure for Trading Analytics, including Databases and Data Lake.
• Understand Machine Learning literature and techniques to mentor team members.
• Present results from developed models in a proficient manner to non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist with the business development and vision of Markets Data Analytics, including liaising with external vendors, scheduling and monitoring teamwork, preparing reports, and building business presentations.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Developers, and Traders to jointly meet deadlines.

Your skills:

• Master or PhD in a technical field, such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or alike.
• 5+ years of work experience as a Data Scientist.
• Proven knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, including Advanced Statistical Analysis, Data Mining, Bayesian Statistics, Reinforcement Learning, and Deep Learning.
• Proficient coding skills in Python, and some knowledge of programming languages such as R, Scala, or Java.
• Knowledge of Webapp Development, Docker, Git, Power BI, VBA, Tableau, and Dash.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Financial Markets and certain knowledge of Mathematical Finance. Having worked in a financial firm is a plus.
• Intermediate knowledge of Databases, including MS-SQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Spark, Kafka, and real-time analytics is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile framework, Scrum methodology, and Jira is a plus.
• Proficient presentation skills and high attention to detail.
• Able to explain technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus.
