IT Business/ Data Analyst (Banking - Ticino)

On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Ticino, we are looking for an IT Business/ Data Analyst with banking industry experience, ideally within Credit Risk domain.

Overview of the project:

  • This organization is responsible for the delivery of IT solutions, providing the front- and back-end applications which support the internal users and customers to manage the whole credit management process.
  • Our client now requires to reinforce the team responsible for the strategic data management ecosystem, which harmonizes Credit Risk data from different booking systems across various locations and distributes it to all downstream applications, which consume it for further risk calculation, risk monitoring, data reporting and other purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Elicits, analyzes, models and validates business requirements, conditions and priorities within application development projects in the Credit Risk PB Domain
  • Actively interaction with the requestors to understand the requirements and expectation and transform them into an adequate, applicable, sustainable and efficient requirement specification for existing or new IT-applications
  • Production and sign-off of standard requirements engineering deliverables (Use Case Model, Use Cases, Domain Object Model, Business Rule Specifications, Screen Specifications, Non Functional Requirements Specifications, Project Requirements List) on time and with high quality and expected clarity
  • Understands the Credit Risk business landscape and is able to model new data attributes into an existing, complex data model
  • Supports developers and testers by resolving business issues that come up during the technical implementation and testing phase
  • Provides subject matter expertise to support the development and validation of quality assurance, application architecture, testing and other project deliverables
  • Provides 3rd Level Support by investigating the root cause of raised production issues and by figuring out what, where and how to fix the root cause of the reported issues.
  • Production and sign-off of standard requirements engineering deliverables (Use Case Model, Use Cases, Domain Object Model, Business Rule Specifications, Screen Specifications, Non Functional Requirements Specifications, Project Requirements List) on time and with high quality
  • Effort estimations and task planning for Requirements Engineering related project tasks

Skills:

  • Over 5 years of requirements engineering experience in application development projects
  • Proven data analysis and data sourcing experience
  • Strong SQL skills, and ideally data modelling experience
  • Advanced knowledge of use case modelling
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Financial industry experience, preferably within Credit Risk domain
  • Soft skills to handle stakeholders with different background (Business Project Managers, User Representatives, Programmers, Offshore resources, Testers etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with people face to face and over the phone across different cultures and time zones (off-shore)
  • Strong ability to work independently and to work collaboratively in a team
  • Understanding of architecture diagrams (mostly UML component diagrams)
  • Understanding of the development technologies and the development and deployment processes
  • Fluent written and spoken English
