Python - Big Data Developer (DevOps)

Key Responsibilities:

- initial setup an maintain of development and test environments

- development tasks, implementing user stories

- 3rd level support activities: investigate and resolve production issues that require IT involvement

- deployments into UAT and production environments

- support UAT testing when required

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:

Investigation of calculations issues performed on Hadoop cluster. Identify problems and provide solutions with the automated deployments. Work with development team to ensure the application runs correctly.

Tech stack used in project:

Java, Hadoop (Spark, HDFS, Impala), Linux, Bash, Git, Python, Jenkins, Docker, Openshift, Salt

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

1. Good knowledge (2+ years of experience) in GIT version control system to be able to manage various software build challenges
2. Practical experience in any Linux distribution but preferable Red Hat family required to automate deployment and maintain the application hosted on that platform
3. 2+ years of experience in Python + Bash and readiness to work with Java as a minimum to work with professional code
4. Nice to have any Docker experience as we are developing CI/CD on OpenShift platform

5. Python scripting

Nice to have:

1. OpenShift
2. Java + Gradle
3. Odyssey tool suite
4. Hadoop - HDFS, Impala
