For one of our client, specialized in the pharmaceutical area based in Zug, we are looking for a Senior Logistics Specialist.

This is a challenging, contracting position, starting in June until the end of November 2018.

Job description:

The Senior Logistic Specialist will act as a Strategic Sourcing Manager for transportation services. He will source and manage providers of transportation services. Ideally, you are an expert of logistics and transportation with a strong procurement knowledge.

The regional Strategic Sourcing & SRM Manager has responsibility for sourcing transportation services for CLS EMEA, its inbound flows, hubs, warehouses and operating companies.

You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategy, multi-year sourcing plan and projects pipeline for the Mode of transport of your responsibility through benchmarking, market intelligence and increasingly acquired industry and category knowledge. The sourcing manager is driving Supplier relationship management (SRM) in Transportation EMEA with a Subject Matter expertise in a specific mode of transport. You will also lead an assigned area of transportation spend to ensure selection of "best in class" service providers in terms of cost, service and quality.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage sourcing/quotation, RFx process for transportation service providers and lead mode specific Sourcing events across business network of responsibility
  • Manage supplier relationship for specific transportation mode(s).
  • Drive value across all EMEA transport spend & deliver productivity as per set targets.
  • Develop & implement sourcing strategy for the assigned area of Transportation spend (modes of transport), drive supplier-enabled innovation
  • Collaborate cross-sector & cross-function, act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of transportation in network redesign, business model change studies and global process improvement projects
  • Lead and support projects in cross-sector environment
  • Support implementation of new solutions and introduction of the new service providers
  • Monitor supplier capability and performance through KPIs and Dashboards
  • Conduct negotiations of contract and service level agreements
  • Maintain knowledge on mode specific industry business intelligence and benchmarking

You bring to this role:

  • Educated to degree or BA level in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement/Strategic Sourcing
  • Demonstrated equivalent experience in on or more of the above mentioned functional areas (~8+ years)
  • Strategic sourcing and negotiations experience (including contracts)
  • Ability to think strategically, develop & deploy strategies to drive End-to-End processes
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills
  • A hands-on mentality, demonstrating autonomy and showing the ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
  • Customer- and Result-orientation
  • Strong project management competence
  • Process oriented mindset (process excellence) and able to manage complexity and change
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • E2E Supply Chain process understanding
  • Business fluency in English

Non-Technical Profile requirements:

  • Some flexibility in working hours is required
  • Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
  • Quick learner, motivated self-starter
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
  • Able to follow change management for internal guidelines
