Senior Legal Counsel

Experis IT Switzerland is on the search for an experienced Legal Counsel to join an existing Swiss Legal Department. This exciting long-term contracting opportunity is only open to candidates with relevant experience, who are available to start in a short notice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide legal services, amongst others, to clients from the European plants
  • Legal point of contact for Procurement and Europe related dispute resolution matters, including settlements, arbitration and litigation
  • Participates in the set up and/or implementation of region plant related projects and provide support in respective meetings
  • Support the Procurement function by reviewing region related contracts
  • Actively contribute to initiatives of Takeda's global manufacturing group
  • Provides advise to all European production plants as well as Direct Procurement
  • Interface to the Plasma Unit
  • Day to day legal counselling, drafting and negotiation of supply agreements, (toll) manufacturing or service agreements, tech-transfer or trial agreements, etc.
  • Manages all disputes with respect to third parties or authorities related to Europe
  • Investigates the details of a case and decide to file a lawsuit or gathers enough evidence to defend clients against a lawsuit
  • Assemble names of potential witnesses, arrange for expert depositions, interview witnesses and other parties relevant to the case, and examines evidence that could be used as trial exhibits
  • On demand, coordinates and oversees cases with external law firms

Your Profile:

  • Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience and a solid understanding of Civil law, Procedural Law and Contract Law systems
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical company or as in-house counsel dealing with litigation matters in a strongly regulated environment
  • Strong experience in liaising and managing external counsels across multiple jurisdictions
  • Good technical understanding combined with the ability to connect with different plants
  • Ability to make key decisions and develop trial strategies in alignment with Head Counsel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Solution-driven, pragmatic, dynamic, self-starter, able to work independently in a dynamic international environment
  • Team player and able to smoothly build strong working relationships
  • Creates an environment that promotes agility, information exchange and the open and honest expression of opinions, thoughts and beliefs
  • Fluent (spoken and written) in English, any further European language is an asset

Location: Zürich

Start Date: Middle November 2019

Duration: 7 months contract with possibility of further extension
