Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Scrum Master / Java Developer to join an Application Development team who are building the next-generation trading solutions to support the global order management and execution platform.

This is an exciting 12 month project that will give an experienced contractor the opportunity for greenfield development using latest technologies and frameworks.

Main responsibilities

Scrum Master:

• Acting as Scrum Master for the team, and representing the team in the Scrum-of-Scrum
• Provide expert knowledge and support on best practices
• Maintain progress across agreed backlogs
• Coordinate tasks and dependencies with other groups
• Participate actively in relevant requirements and planning workshops and sprint ceremonies

Java Developer:

• Developing applications responsible for Order and Trade Management and Execution
• Building new components and maintenance of existing components in our micro-service landscape
• Working with other team members on the requirements, preparing the releases and delivering the applications to production
• Continuous integration testing and related documentation updates
• Actively participate in the design and technology review of the applications written in the team
• Provide support for the existing systems where required

Your skills:

• Solid knowledge and 3+ years of experience with Agile processes and Scrum ceremonies
• Senior Java developer with 7+ years of experience in Java 8+, Spring Boot
• A very thorough understanding of Java technology fundamentals and design patterns used in real-time transaction processing systems
• Preferably have gained experience as Scrum Master
• Experience with low latency platform design (developing low latency, high availability multithreaded code)
• Mentoring experience, especially with developers in different locations
