On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Java Software Engineer with a strong quantitative background.

Overview of the project:

• A challenging role as a Senior Java Developer in a demanding business (Investment Management)

Responsibilities:

• Translating higher level business requirements into implementable lower level requirements
• Implementation of requirements, with particular focus on architecture, scalability, stability, automated testing
• Interaction with an international team of developers, architects, quantitative investment professionals
• Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and approaches for portfolio construction, trade recommendation, asset allocation

Skills:

• Strong experience and knowledge of Java (+ 7 years) and its ecosystem (Java 8, knowledge of Java 11 is a plus)
• Over 7 years of experience in Java application frameworks, in particular Spring Boot
• Affinity to quantitative topics, ideally a strong background in quants role
• 3 years of experience in highly performant mission critical server side applications
• 3 years of experience in applications using microservices architectures
• 3 years of experience in designing and implementing APIs using technologies such as OpenAPI and REST
• + 3 years of experience in highly available, multi-threaded low latency platforms
• Experience in DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift, cloud & containerization technologies)
• Experience in messaging frameworks (Apache Kafka, Apache ActiveMQ)
• Previous experience of a development role in finance or computationally intense computing, e.g. banking, trading, asset management, risk management, insurance
• Understanding of financial products, time series and risk management principles
• Experience with Linux environments
• Good Team Player
