German Speaking Development Engineer - Medical Devices

On behalf of our client, one of the biggest medical devices company with HQ in Zug we are looking for a Development Engineer with previous experience in medical devices. This is a contracting position, starting in February until the end of the year with extension possibilities based in Oberdorf.

Responsibilities:

Develops improvements and modifications to current products according to the product development process:

• Responsible for the product design
• Primary contact person for technical questions/issues of existing product
• Participates or leads product development projects
• In close collaboration with the technical engineering office, drives changes of drawings, models and bill of materials
• Responsible for the performance of the product and its mechanical stability, as well as the application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Develops mechanical test set-ups (including derivation of benchmarks) according to national and international standards and coordinates the activities required to fabricate test parts and complete mechanical testing (according to PD process)
• Works with manufacturing to clarify design issues
• Performs the required activities and generates the appropriate PD documents to ensure compliance with national and international regulations related to medical devices (in particular EU MDD, US FDA, Japanese PAL)
• Performs other special projects and functions as assigned
• Knows and follows all laws and policies that apply to the job, and to maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times

Your profile:

• University or ETH course plus 1-2 years practical experience or doctorate, or
• 10 years' experience as a Development Engineer
• Knowledge of biomechanics, biology, anatomy is a plus
• Spread sheet and CAD/CAM, materials science
• Project management experience
• Mechanical experience (construction, production), min. 1,5 - 2 years as Associate Development Engineer
• Creative/problem-solving skills
