On behalf of our client, a leading global travel retailer, we are looking for a Senior Point of Sales Specialist. For this perm position in the city of Basel in Switzerland, our client is looking for an English-speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. What you can expect:

  • Ensure deployment of POS system components in compliance with corporate guidelines
  • Drive local resource trainings & UATs (directly or indirectly)
  • Review and validate business questionnaires, gap lists & change requests before submitting to validation & then to 3rd level support
  • Follow-up on deliverables and compliance to specifications
  • Coordination with 1st level support during all project phases
  • Owner of the Central Servers:
    • Responsible of server performance & stability
    • In charge of POS software components running on the central servers: installations, update management, tests, backup, restore & event documenting
    • Coordinate with 1st level support for systems maintenance, system updates & setups reviews
    • Maintain global settings
    • Responsible of alignment of setups vs. global standards
  • Control stability of environment:
    • Control data flows from/to POS environment
    • Control & maintain services related to POS systems
    • Analyze event logs
    • Proactively drive corrective or preventive maintenance based on event logs
    • Controls execution of automated maintenance activities
  • Coordinate with other Competence Centers
  • Act as Business Application functional and technical expert:
    • Ensures 2nd level support activities: provide technical & functional support to L1 support and interface with 3rd level support
    • Review and validate business change requests before submitting to 3rd level support

What they expect from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in an Omni-channel retail environment
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise class POS solutions and strong competencies in POS systems/logic
  • Excellent knowledge of MS SQL and MS Office environment
  • Excellent knowledge of API architecture and mobile App, as well as hands-on experiences with API integrations
  • High level of customer service orientation with the ability to manage a diverse customer base effectively
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to translate end user needs into technical specifications and vice versa
  • A flexible, initiative, and open-minded personality, reliable and results-driven with can-do attitude
  • Fluency in English a must, any other language an advantage
  • Work experience in dynamic, international environments with multi-cultural teams
