On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution, we are looking for a Java Developer who will be based in Chur, Graubünden.

Overview of the project:

• The candidate would be working on the Lombard Front to Back Program. This is a strategic and international program.
• Most of the impacted applications are Java 1.8 based and interfacing to an oracle database system with an angular GUI.
• The senior Software engineer would need to pick up all tasks related to the entire lifecycle of product development, i.e. contact with stakeholders, gathering requirements and analysis, design of architecture, implementation, design and write different types of tests, packaging, deployment, support and maintenance software in production; know and understand Agile methodology and its tools.

Main responsibilities:

• Software development based on given requirements according to quality standards agreed within the team
• Participating in the design activities
• Writing unit tests for created software
• Documenting the code and developed solutions
• Bug fixing and maintenance of created software
• Close cooperation with other Software Engineers, Solution Architects, Requirements Engineers, Project Manager and Test Engineers
• Performing review of the requirement specifications prepared by Requirement Engineers
• Supporting Test Engineers in all test activities
• Developing and maintaining GUI frontend

Skills:

• Java (Java EE) development skills (5 years +)
• Knowledgeable in AngularJS/Angular 2+ (Typescript and Angular 2+ is a very strong plus) or other Javascript based GUI frameworks (React)
• Knowledge of Databases and SQL (preferably Oracle) as well as JPA
• Experienced with RESTful web services
• Experience of best-practices in an enterprise development environment (e.g., test-driven development, continuous integration, source code control)
• Excellent knowledge of object oriented programming patterns and principles
• Excellent abstract and analytical thinking plus problem solving skills
• A self-starter, being able to take ownership of tasks on short-notice and work under pressure
• Fluency in English (spoken and written), German is a plus
• Practical experience working with IntelliJ (or Eclipse), JUnit and GIT
• High ability and motivation to learn
• Excellent team player and proactive approach
