IT Network Engineer - ROC IP Transport Engineer

On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for an IT Network Engineer to join the Network tools team.

Main responsibilities

• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
• Uphold high standards for timely issue resolution
• Raise change requests and implement network changes
• Define workarounds for known errors and initiate process improvements
• Maintain a knowledge database

Your skills:

• Proven experience working within high performing Network Operations/ Data Centre teams, ideally in the financial services industry.
• Strong technical experience in the following areas: JUNOS/ Cisco IOS/Nexus Software, Juniper MX, EX, Cisco 3750/6500 platforms
• Proficient in advanced routing: BGP, OSPF and L2 switching.
• Packet level decoding (Wireshark/TCPDUMP etc.)
• Responsible for the support and maintenance of large scale network infrastructure.
• Provide hands-on proactive/reactive maintenance and troubleshooting of network data environments.
• Review technical infrastructure changes.
• Develop documentation of technical support issues using the available tools is an essential element of the role and work closely with Service Managers and other team leads to provide effective operation support.
• German language skills would be highly advantageous
